Antony Gormley
Horizon Field
In this film, Antony Gormley discusses his major installation Horizon Field (2010) amid its extraordinary setting in Oberlech, high up in the Austrian Alps. The work, consisting of 100 body forms sited over 150 square kilometres, was installed for two years and was an extension of the artist's solo exhibition at Kunsthaus Bregenz in 2010. Gormley discusses the complex process of the installation, how his work aims to “sit relatively lightly on the world” and the contrasting relationship between this work and another of his major installations, Event Horizon, which was installed in one of the densest urban environments in the world: Manhattan, New York.
