In this film, Friedrich Kunath talks with the writer Michael Bracewell about his studio and practice. Kunath discusses how he creates a parallel world in the studio – built up from objects amassed from both high and low culture and how these contradictory things find their way into his painting and sculpture. He also sheds light on how the city of Los Angeles has influenced his work as a German, born and raised in the former East Germany.
