Welcome to the White Cube October Newsletter. We are delighted to announce that the opening exhibition at White Cube São Paulo will be by Tracey Emin. Theaster Gates' first solo exhibition continues at Bermondsey, while Runa Islam is currently at Hoxton Square and Magnus Plessen is at Mason's Yard. Cerith Wyn Evans has opened in Hong Kong and the Inside the White Cube programme is also on view at Bermondsey. Details of art fairs, events, international exhibitions, books and editions are also included.

We are pleased to announce the opening of White Cube São Paulo with ‘You Don’t Believe in Love But I Believe in You’, a new exhibition by Tracey Emin. This will be the first solo presentation by Emin in Brazil and confirms White Cube’s commitment to a major three year programme of exhibitions in São Paulo following the success of Antony Gormley’s Special Project, ‘Facts and Systems’, earlier this year.

Theaster Gates' first solo exhibition in London is a multi-faceted installation including the works 'Raising Goliath' (2012) and 'My Labor is My Protest' (2012), where Gates readdresses the ongoing struggle for civil rights. A library has also been installed, borrowed from the archive of Johnson Publishing Company, the Chicago-based publishers of 'Ebony' magazine.

The twelve new works in Magnus Plessen's exhibition focus on rotation and revolution as a means of re-ordering structure and dimensionality within the painting. Using a diverse range of painterly methods and dynamic compositions, his works are studies on perception, structure, material and transience.

In her recent practice, Runa Islam has explored the syntax, materiality and histories of visual representation, often in relation to the medium of film. Adopting diverse sculptural and cinematic approaches in the presentation of her work the exhibition features three films and an architectural intervention.

For his first exhibition in Hong Kong, Cerith Wyn Evans has installed four new crystal chandeliers that are clustered together, their lights flickering on and off in reaction to a piece of music. In addition, a neon text spelling out the phrase 'Things are conspicuous in their absence...' is displayed alongside a revolving sculpture.

Gary Hume's Arts Council Collection touring exhibition will be at its final venue in Aberdeen Art Gallery. The show features the early door paintings that earned Hume international recognition in the early 1990s as well as more recent paintings and sculptures from the artist's studio.

The Southbank Centre will present the London premiere of Christian Marclay's new work 'Everyday'. Short film clips are re-edited and used as a video score for musicians who will improvise music that develops alongside the footage as it is played.

Jake & Dinos Chapman make iconoclastic sculptures, prints and installations that examine, with searing wit and energy, contemporary politics, religion and morality. The State Hermitage Museum will exhibit the hellscape 'End of Fun' which is presented alongside reinterpreted Goya etchings.

Antony Gormley's 'Corpos Presentes / Still Being' will be presented at the third and final CCBB venue in Brasilia. The exhibition includes four major installations alongside a number of other works and models, including 'Event Horizon'.
