This summer an extensive selection of film and video works by Runa Islam will be shown in her first solo show at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney.

Jointly commissioned by the MCA and the Musee d`art Contemporain de Montreal, new work 'Magical Consciousness' (2010) will be amongst the films on view. Produced during Islam’s Smithsonian Residency in 2009, the 16mm black and white film uses engrossing slow-panning movements to explore the surface of an embossed gold leaf Japanese screen.

Also featured in the show is `Be The First To See What You See As You See It` (2004), ‘Assault’ (2008),’The House Belongs To Those Who Inhabit It’ (2008) and ‘Scale 1/16 inch = 1 foot’ (2003).
