2 July–6 November 2016
K20 presents the solo exhibition ‘Andreas Gursky – not abstract’. Many of the featured works, on view here for the first time, have been created for this exhibition and explore the abstract potential of the photographic medium. From early on in his career, abstraction has served Gursky as a resource for compositional freedom. The exhibition at K20 reveals the diverse forms of abstraction that have appeared in the artist’s work.
Gursky’s photographs will be accompanied by a minimalist sound installation by the Canadian producer and DJ Richie Hawtin.
Saturday and Sunday: 11am–6pm
