14 March–22 October 2017
To mark the centenary of the death of Auguste Rodin, the Musée Rodin presents an exhibition of his work alongside that of Anselm Kiefer, inviting the viewer to consider aesthetic concerns shared by the two artists.
For the exhibition, Anselm Kiefer has been given the freedom to create a series of unprecedented displays incorporating debris created during Rodin’s sculpture making, such as offcuts and discarded moulds.
Echoing this exhibition, displays elsewhere in the museum have been altered to present heretofore unseen plaster works by Rodin, further exploring aesthetic concerns shared by the two artists.
