Anselm Kiefer at Tel Aviv Museum of Art
Anselm Kiefer’s solo exhibition ‘Shevirat Ha-Kelim’ or ‘Breaking of the Vessels’ has opened at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. The exhibition was conceived by the artist with the late Mordechai Omer especially for the opening of the Herta and Paul Amir Building. This exhibition looks at Kiefer’s continued interest in Jewish culture and, more broadly, in faith, literature and mythology. Since the 1970s, the artist has examined Germany's complex past, encompassing the Second World War and its difficult aftermath, in a profound and sustained dialogue with the country’s painful history. Kiefer’s diverse body of work in painting, sculpture and installation that has made him among the most important artists of his generation.
