Beatriz Milhazes, internationally recognised for her abstract compositions incorporating dynamic colour and form, has created a limited edition artwork titled Love and Peace in support of the Ikon gallery, Birmingham.
Limited to an edition of 100, the ceramic plate will be on view and available to purchase from 11 February– March 2016 at Plinth’s pop-up gallery space, 44 Great Russell Street, London and from the bookshop at White Cube Bermondsey.
Milhazes is one of five artists who have created limited editions to supplement Ikon gallery’s 50th Anniversary Investment Fund. The fund was established in the summer of 2015, with all proceeds being put towards supporting Ikon’s programmes and artists of the future.
Milhazes has said of the project ‘Love and Peace was developed starting from a detail of Peace and Love a 1995-96 painting. This design-plate carries the memory of this painting, its strength, poetry, and also my respect and affection for Ikon gallery!’
‘Love and Peace’ is currently available to pre-order here.
