Preview and Artist Talk: 7 February, 6.30 pm
For the exhibition at Museum Haus Konstruktiv, Cerith Wyn Evans has conceived a new installation with fluorescent tubes that hang down from the ceiling and have a delicate form derived from the precise formalized movements of traditional Japanese Noh theatre.
It features a concentration of complex lines that echo the transitions of various theatrical sequences of movements and ways of walking. An additional light work on display is coupled with sound: Here, a selected passage of text, translated into Morse code, is sent to a fluorescent tube that is part of the exhibition space’s overhead lighting. The light blinks to the rhythm of the coded signals.
