Christian Marclay wins prestigious Golden Lion prize at the 54th Venice Biennale
White Cube congratulates Christian Marclay for winning the Golden Lion for 'The Clock', which was first exhibited at White Cube, Mason's Yard in October 2010. Adrian Searle, in his review of the Biennale, calls 'The Clock' the most staggering, complex thing made by any artist so far this century'.
The jury described ‘The Clock’ as a masterpiece and praised Marclay for making the boundaries between artistic forms and genres irrelevant.
'The Clock' is being screened in the Arsenale as part of the 54th Biennale di Venezia until 27 November.
