Damián Ortega is among the 20 international artists and three collective projects participating in the 5th Anyang Public Art Project (APAP). Since 2005, the project has created links between art, architecture and design.
Damián Ortega presents One percent, one hundred percent (2016), which takes the form of rusted concrete cubes. In this newly commissioned, the artist explores the accumulation and dispersal of capital. The idea of the work comes from a television interview Ortega watched about unquantifiable values in an informal economy, such as unregistered property ownership, personal sharing of work hours and non-monetary barter.
