To mark the occasion of Georg Baselitz' 75th birthday, the Essl Museum have curated an extensive exhibition of forty-four works, spanning four decades of the artist's career. Baselitz' importance among the German artists of the post-war era is displayed in this exhibition through the development of his figurative painting which is considered to be both singular and distinctive.
The exhibition was curated by Prof. Karlheinz Essl and organised by Lisa Grünwald and Andreas Hoffer.
A catalogue will be published alongside the exhibition and will include an interview with the artist, conducted by Prof. Karlheinz Essl.
