In honour of Georg Baselitz’s 80th birthday, the Kunstmuseum Basel’s Department of Prints and Drawings presents a retrospective of the German artist’s graphic works.
Curated by Dr. Anita Haldemann, the exhibition presents 100 large-format and colour drawings spanning Baselitz’s six-decade career, offering insight into the development of his graphic style.
Highlights include Baselitz’s radical innovation of turning his motifs upside down in 1969, as well as newer, reflective works where the artist revisits and corrects some of his earlier drawings.
