Gilbert & George have collaborated with Italian fashion house Moschino for its Autumn/Winter 2016 Menswear collection, granting creative director Jeremy Scott full access to their archive. Presented during London Collections Men, the designs draw upon several of Gilbert & George's 1980s ‘THE PICTURES’ series, featuring saturated colours, slogans and imagery from pictures such as YOUTH FAITH (1982) and FEAR (1984).
EXISTER (1984) and WAKING (1984) by Gilbert & George were also among the influences on the collection, which featured trompe l’oeil shadows, wrinkles printed onto garments and models’ hair and extremities painted to reflect Gilbert & George’s colour palettes.
