Haim Steinbach opens Magasin III’s satellite space in Jaffa with ‘zerubbabel’, his first exhibition in Israel.
Steinbach’s artistic practice involves selecting and arranging everyday objects from various social and cultural contexts. The objects are displayed in new ways, emphasising their identities, inherent meanings and associations. This inaugural exhibition includes work ranging from recent wall paintings, to his refined objects presented in architectural defined boxes.
Magasin III Museum & Foundation for Contemporary Art was founded 30 years ago and is one of Europe’s leading institutions for contemporary art. The new space, Magasin III Jaffa, spans 180 square metres and has been carefully planned so that exhibitions can be viewed at any time of the day or night, with a special emphasis on being viewed from the outside.
