18 March–8 June 2017
Qiao Collection and White Cube present He Xiangyu’s first solo exhibition in Shanghai. The exhibition includes works that extend the artist’s ongoing ‘Lemon Painting’ series. Also on view, expansive video installation Turtle, Lion and Bear (2015), previously shown at the Biennale de Lyon, France in 2015 and now presented in China for the first time.
In keeping with He Xiangyu’s dynamic and experimental practice, the works shown at Qiao Space are rooted in the artist’s interest in sensory perception and developing visual devices to influence and disrupt the viewer’s reactions to his work, in turn raising broader questions around of selfhood and identity.
