16 April–10 June 2016
Jac Leirner is one of the artists featured in ‘KALEIDOSCOPE: A Moment of Grace’ at Modern Art Oxford, a year-long series of interlinking exhibitions, performances and events to celebrate the museum’s 50th anniversary.
The exhibition charts the ways in which activism in the 1960s aimed to critique the art world as a way of commenting on ‘the establishment’, before progressing to a new generation of artists working with the new materials and visual surfaces of the post-Internet age. Alongside Jac Leirner work is shown by Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Kevin Beasly, John Latham, Jac Leirner, David Malijkovic, Gustav Metzger, Gareth Nyandoro, Yoko Ono, Open Music Archive and Guan Xiao.
