1 July–22 October 2017
The first solo exhibition in Scotland by Jac Leirner goes on show at The Fruitmarket Gallery. ‘Add it Up’ brings together loans from major collections with new works made especially for the exhibition.
Leirner's work is formulated through a process of collecting and ordering everyday materials, revealing the material poetry of the mundane. Highlights from this exhibition include Little Light (2013), a work made from several miles of copper wire and a lightbulb; Skin (Randy Kind Size Wired)(2013), a work made from cigarette papers; and a selection of watercolours.
