28 June - 31 October
Katharina Fritsch’s sculpture Frau mit Hund (Woman with Dog) (2004) is featured in Manifesta 10 – the tenth edition of the European Biennial of Contemporary Art.
Manifesta was conceived in the early 1990s as a nomadic European biennial of contemporary art, responding to the new social, cultural and political landscape in the aftermath of the Cold War. Changing its location every two years, the biennial aims to reflect emerging developments in contemporary art , engaging local, national and international audiences. Manifesta 10 is hosted by The State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, Russia.
Fristch is one of fifty artists to be selected, along with Henri Matisse, Bruce Nauman, Joseph Beuys, Gerhard Richter, Boris Mikhailov, Thomas Hirschorn and Louise Bourgeois and others.
