ArtTable's 'Artist Breakfasts' is a series of artist talks hosted in partnership with artnet. These intimate monthly breakfasts will occur on the third Wednesday of each month and feature artists in discussion with leading curators, academics, and critics in the visual arts.
Liza Lou has been selected as October's artist and in addition to speaking about her mesmerising new work Color Field (2012-13), exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Lou will read from and discuss her book 'Durban Diaries' (2012). The diaries recollect her move from California to Durban, South Africa in 2005 and her experiences to date working with a collective of 30 Zulu artisans in creating her magnificent large-scale beaded works.
