MCA San Diego will debut Liza Lou's newest work titled Color Field (2010-13). Lou's large-scale sculpture, measuring more than 20ft by 20ft, is composed of thirty two shades of coloured beads meticulously placed on small wire supports. The 'field' abstract painting will be situated on the gallery floor around which visitors can walk.
Color Field was started in Durban, South Africa and will be completed at the MCA San Diego, where teams of volunteers will aid in the work’s installation over a two week period.
