The Giorgio Cini Foundation presents a major solo exhibition by Marc Quinn. The exhibition opens on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore and will run alongside the 55th Venice Biennale.
The exhibition will feature a unique site-specific installation of the work Evolution (2005) that has been specially adapted for the island of San Giorgio as well as seven large scale seashells from the series 'The Archaeology of Art' (2013) . Alison Lapper Pregnant (2005), previously installed in September 2005 on the fourth plinth in London’s Trafalgar Square will also be on display.
Curated by Germano Celant, the exhibition includes sculptures, paintings and other art objects by Quinn. Consisting of more than 50 works, including the public debut of at least 13 new works, the exhibition will be one of the artist’s most extensive to date.
