The National Academy Museum, who represent some of the most celebrated in their respective fields, has announced that Mark Bradford and Christian Marclay are in this year's newly elected members.
Elected annually by the Academy membership, these artists and architects are being recognised for their contribution to American art and architecture. For the first time, nominees include artists working in video, photography and installation.
Each Academician contributes a representative work upon election. These works from Academicians, now spanning the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries, form the Academy’s permanent collection of over 7,000 paintings, sculptures and drawings, as well as architectural drawings, photographs and models.
