27 November 2015–13 March 2016
Artist Talk: 11 March 2016, 6pm
‘Miroslaw Balka: Nerve. Construction’ is the largest presentation of Balka’s work in Poland to date.
Brought together are works spanning over three decades, starting from the artist’s early drawings, up to contemporary productions created specifically for the museum.
The exhibition shows works from the 1980s and works created from found objects and formally disciplined sculptures, characteristic of Balka’s later oeuvre. These will be complimented by a selection of works on paper: drawings, sketches of sculptures, and private notes. Many of these objects will be presented to the public for the first time.
The exhibition has been curated by Kasia Redzisz and Maria Morzuch.
On Friday 11 March 2016 at 6pm, Miroslaw Balka will be joined in conversation at Museum Sztuki by Andrew Nairne, director of Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge.
