This exhibition at Kunstmuseum in St.Gallen is Mona Hatoum's first solo show in a Switzerland. Hatoum uses the idea of the human body as way of communicating political and social issues, as the starting point for her artistic creation.
Hatoum’s poetic and political practice is realised in a diverse and often unconventional range of media, including installations, sculpture, video, photography and works on paper. The exhibition will feature works such as early performance piece Roadworks (1985); installation Undercurrent (Red) (2008) and sculpture Paravent (2008).
The exhibition is curated by Konrad Bitterli and Nadia Veronese.
