The Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art was established in 2003 as part of a federal program entitled 'Culture of Russia: 2001-2006'.
This year Mona Hatoum, Julie Mehretu and Robin Rhode are participants in the biennale's main project 'More Light' at the National Centre of Contemporary Art in Moscow. The exhibition, which includes Hatoum's Web (2006), Mehretu's Beloved (2013) and a new animation by Robin Rhode, addresses complex ideas of giving, taking and being - challenging our perceptions of space and time
Over several months Moscow will play host to the biennale's main project, 'More Light' as well as exhibitions by five special guests, 65 'special projects' and a number of exhibitions in the Biennale's 'parallel programme'.
'More Light' is curated by Catherine de Zegher.
