7 October 2016 —26 February 2017
Kiasma presents the first major survey of Mona Hatoum’s work in Finland, covering 35 years from her early radical performances and video pieces, to sculptures and large-scale installations.
The exhibition brings together around 100 works, including performance, video, photography, installation, sculpture and works on paper, all of which give an overview of the diversity and scope of Hatoum's work.
Through the juxtaposition of opposites such as beauty and horror, Hatoum engages us in conflicting emotions of desire and revulsion, fear and fascination.
The exhibition was shown at the Centre Pompidou, Musée National d’Art Moderne, Paris, in Autumn 2015 and Tate Modern in Summer 2016.
