17 November 2017 – 12 March 2018
Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia
The Barnes Foundation presents works by Anselm Kiefer alongside those of Auguste Rodin, commemorating the centennial of Rodin’s death.
First shown in the Musée Rodin in Paris earlier this year, the exhibition displays experimental works by Kiefer created in response to sculptures and drawings by Rodin. Made with unexpected materials such as plaster and found objects, ‘Kiefer Rodin’ encourages a conversation between old art and new and conveys how both artists capture the architecture of human body.
