Pirelli HangarBicocca hosts the first solo show in Italy by Miroslaw Balka. Titled ‘CROSSOVER/S’, the exhibition presents a selection of some of the artist’s main projects and sculptures to date.

Miroslaw Balka’s eariest works focused on the human figure, represented through commonly used materials such as wood, ash and soap. In the 1990s, Balka then abandoned anthropomorphic sculpture in favour of forms – such as beds, platforms and fountains – that allude to human presence but without ever representing it.

On Thursday 27 April 2017 at 5.30 pm, Pirelli HangarBicocca presents FROM ONE TO INFINITE, a conversation/a walk through the exhibition “CROSSOVER/S” with Miroslaw Balka and Julian Heynen, the curator and writer who has been following and interpreting the artist’s work for many years.
