Miroslaw Balka creates a site-specific installation titled ‘„[(.;,:?!–…)]”’ in the Muzeum Śląskie in Katowice, Poland.

Curated by Anda Rottenberg, the project consists of a monumental sculpture exploring the conditions of the human body and its limitations.

Referring to issues of air pollution, the sculpture is constructed with trapezoidal sheet metal and conveys a three-dimensional diagram of a lung x-ray. The installation fills the central hall of the museum and invites the viewer to wander through the darkened space, subjecting them to various sensory stimuli including touch, sight, balance and sensation of heat and cold.
