Mona Hatoum features in the group exhibition ‘Artists in Exile: Expressions of Loss and Hope’ which presents artists who left their country of birth or adopted home. Her piece, Nature morte aux grenades, made from crystal, mild steel, and rubber is an integral part of the show.

The exhibition explores exile as not only a mental or physical state, but a catalyst for creativity – how separation from the familiar, either willing or unwilling, inspired innovations in form and technique.
