Mona Hatoum has been announced as the recipient of the Whitechapel Gallery’s Art Icon 2018.

Launched in 2014 in collaboration with Swarovski and the Swarovski Foundation, the Art Icon Award celebrates the work of an artist who has made extraordinary contributions to a particular medium, influencing their own and successive generations of artists. It is presented at the annual gala dinner hosted by Whitechapel Gallery’s Director Iwona Blazwick OBE and Nadja Swarovski.
