Until 14 December 2014
Works by both Rachel Kneebone and Fred Tomaselli are featured in ‘3am: wonder, paranoia and the restless night’, a touring exhibition showcasing 22 artists whose work can be seen to explore nocturnal themes.
Included in the exhibition are Rachel Kneebone’s ceramic sculptures, evoking twisting limbs, and Fred Tomaselli’s Untitled (2012), which suggests both a multitude of eyes in the darkness and the swirl of a galaxy.
Accompanying these works are artistic explorations of every aspect of the hour 3am as a literal and psychological space. Nocturnal landscape, cosmology, mystery, fear and danger, revelry, nightmare, distortion, liberation and the forbidden are all touched upon.
The exhibition was programmed by the Bluecoat in Liverpool, curated by Angela Kingston, and has also appeared at Chapter in Cardiff and The Exchange, Penzance.
