Films by Runa Islam will be among those screened for the 8th Edition of ‘Lo schermo dell’arte’ Film Festival. The annual event is held in Florence, and is dedicated to exploring, analysing and promoting the complex relations between contemporary art and cinema through films, installations, publications and workshops. Islam’s works Empty the pond to get the fish. (2008) and Pièce Unique (2012) will be screened – view programme.
Islam will be in conversation with Riccardo Venturi, researcher in Contemporary Art History at INHA (Institut national d’histoire de l’art) in Paris, as part of the ‘Festival Talk’ programme. The conversation will take place at the University of Florence at 3.45pm on Thursday 19 November, full details.
