Sarah Morris at Nottingham Contemporary
Nottingham Contemporary will screen Sarah Morris's film 1972 that explores the events that unfolded during the Olympic Games hosted by Munich in 1972.
The terrorist group Black September took 11 members of the Israeli Olympic team hostage. Attempts to negotiate ended in disaster- the death of all hostages, five terrorists and a German policeman. The history of how this happened and who was to blame is long-contested: a lack of certain answers to questions of truth and responsibility lie at the heart of Morris' film, the narration of which is provided by an interview with Georg Sieber, psychologist and police adviser to the security team of the 1972 Munich Olympics.
