The talk will be a unique opportunity to hear from the Chicago-based artist, curator, urbanist and winner of the Artes Mundi 6 prize, who will be discussing recent projects whereby he attempts to instigate the creation of cultural centres which act as catalysts for social engagement.
Gates will be joined in conversation by Mark Godfrey, Curator of International Art, Tate Modern and Lisa Yun Lee, Director of the School of Art & Art History at University of Illinois at Chicago.
