My Bed (1998) by Tracey Emin is presented in Liverpool alongside works by William Blake. It is the first time this work by Emin has been shown in the North of England.
Blake’s paintings The Blasphemer (1800) and The Crucifixion: Behold Thy Mother (1805) are included in the exhibition alongside Emin’s work, demonstrating a concern with spirituality, birth and death shared by both artists.
My Bed was acquired by The Duerckheim Collection in July 2014 and is now on loan to Tate for 10 years.
Following its display in Liverpool, the work will be shown at Turner Contemporary in Margate.
