Antony Gormley completed his first ever lithograph project at the workshop of Edition Copenhagen, Denmark in 2007. Having worked in the past in etching, aquatint and woodcut, the massive lithography stones at Edition Copenhagen’s workshop were a new challenge. However, the artists' bond with the medium was instantaneous and he responded well to the stones’ unique surface and mass. Inspired to use unorthodox methods and materials in the print process, as he does in his drawings, Gormley utilized a variety of reconfigured everyday objects, as well as his own body, in the process of making this new series of lithographs.
