Darren Almond’s ’Principle of Moments’, is a series of time-lapse photographs depicting the wild, green landscape of the Faroe Islands, close to the Arctic Circle. A photograph was taken for every minute of every hour, on the longest day of the year. This coastline's extreme geographical location means that it experiences very diverse weather. During this period the light barely disappears, but the extreme weather creates striking results: a mountain appears and then disappears, clouds create rain that then feeds the waterfall and the sun sinks behind the mountain so the sea is obscured by shadow.

Each minute from an entire day was photographed on the solstice and therefore each work is unique. Please email editons@whitecube.com for a pdf file of the available minutes. Each edition is fabricated once ordered so please allow 4-5 weeks for delivery.
