This print is based on a painting from the artist's ‘Clips’ series in which she has used the motifs of standard office stationary, in particular, the simple paper clip, to make abstract and complex images using a bold palette of colours. While masquerading as formal abstraction, these images hint at something altogether more sinister: the 'no way out' formation of bureaucratic systems, webs of social control or the sophisticated contemporary visual communication that controls our social environment. With their rhythmic formations and dynamic compositions these works attempt to mask their real power through their own surface seduction.
