Filmed in the artist's London studio, February 2012.
In this film, Gilbert & George discuss the 'London Pictures', their new series of work, with White Cube's Director of Exhibitions, Tim Marlow. 'Historical and timeless' and covering the subjects of sex, money, race and religion, the pictures contain all of what matters in human life according to the artists, providing a complex visual nexus of thoughts that operates as a contemporary 'cityscape' of London. Describing the genesis of the project, Gilbert & George discuss the five year process of collecting nearly 4,000 newspaper posters for the pictures and the development of ideas within these works after their earlier and related series of 'Bomb Pictures'. The 'London Pictures', with 292 single works, is the largest body of pictures that Gilbert & George have yet produced.
