16 November 2022 – 27 February 2023
Centre Pompidou, Paris
A survey exhibition of Christian Marclay’s work opens at the Centre Pompidou, Paris, this November. Curated by Jean-Pierre Criqui, the show features the artist’s major video installations alongside objects, assemblages, photographs, prints and paintings. A new video, Doors (2022), will be shown for the first time, while the video installations Video Quartet (2002) and Subtitled (2019) enter a new setting. Covering the last 35 years of the artist’s distinctive fusion of fine art and audio cultures, the exhibition situates Marclay’s rise to prominence in dialogue with developments in Fluxus, the Pictures Generation and the musical new wave.
