During the lockdown in 2020, Raqib Shaw (b. 1974, Calcutta, India) built an alpine rockery at his South London studio which was based on childhood memories of the Karakoram mountains of Kashmir. The rockery is the life study for a new series of drawings set entirely in his garden.
Named after his favourite Sylvia Plath poem, the White Cube Online exhibition ‘A Summer Among the Narcissi’ comprises of works in a circular format. They act as a portal into the artist’s conscious and subconscious mind, where reality and fantasy collide.
