In this film, Damien Hirst discusses his exhibition at White Cube Hong Kong. Hirst talks about his intricate new Entomology Paintings which employ thousands of species of butterflies and insects, affixed onto canvases whose careful balance of beauty and horror tap into our primal fears. Hirst discusses the importance of surface in his paintings and reflects on how his Scalpel Blade Paintings mine a path between the ordered and the minimal, the chaotic and the random, to achieve their dazzling, mesmeric effect.
