White Cube Mason’s Yard opened in 2006 near the original Duke Street space. The building, constructed on the site of an electricity sub-station, was designed by architects MRJ Rundell & Associates. It is the first free-standing structure to have been built in the historic St James’s area for more than 30 years and consists of a ground floor gallery on street level and a double-height, naturally-lit basement gallery. An exhibition by Mexico-based artist Gabriel Orozco inaugurated the space.
Accessibility Information
- The public gallery is on the ground floor and lower ground floor. Both galleries are accessible via a lift
- A wheelchair accessible toilet is located on the lower ground floor
- Fold out seating can be collected from reception
