Schloss Derneberg

A new solo exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Georg Baselitz opens at the Hall Art Foundation this Spring. Titled ‘Baselitz in the Studio’, the exhibition is presented to coincide with the artist’s 85th birthday. It is the first in a series of Baselitz exhibitions drawn from the Hall collection on show at Kunstmuseum Schloss Derneburg.

Comprising some of the last works that Baselitz created at Schloss Derneburg, which was his home and studio for 32 years until 2006, the exhibition features a breadth of the artist’s work. From his large-scale tondos to upside-down paintings, the works on show in ‘Baselitz in the Studio’, exemplify the artist’s wide-ranging oeuvre.
