Cerith Wyn Evans and Christian Marclay at LCMF 2022

Posted:

18 June - 19 June 2022

Cerith Wyn Evans and Christian Marclay will present works in the London Contemporary Music Festival (LCMF). Exploring Sad Boys, sweet melancholy and the affective turn, through 9 new commissions and 18 premieres, the 8th edition of the festival takes place in three venues from 15 to 19 June. On Saturday 18 June at the Fireworks Factory, Evans will debut a new orchestral commission. Other commissions in this programme, titled ‘Exhausted and Hysterical’, include artist and electronic producer Elvin Brandhi and composer Oliver Leith. On Sunday 19 June, acclaimed improviser Elaine Mitchener will perform Christian Marclay’s graphic score No! (2020), the first European performance of this work, which samples vocal utterances from comic book fragments. Also on this day, which is themed ‘Hysterical and Happy’, Claudia Molitor’s new requiem Polymer Hauntings uses single-use plastics in a performance that aims to be unperformable in the future.
