Gilbert & George at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami

Gilbert & George feature in ‘The Everywhere Studio’, the inaugurating exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Art’s new building in Miami’s Design District.

Exploring the significance of the artist’s studio from the post-war period to the present day, the group show encompasses some 100 works from over 50 artists, including painting, sculpture, video and installation. Organised chronologically, it examines the changing relationships artists have to their sites of creation. From the studio as a site of labour, to one that blurs production, performance, and spectacle, the exhibition features artists who, in response to changing socioeconomic influences, represented new modes of working and living that would subsequently spread across society.
