Gwangju Biennale announces new award funded by Park Seo-Bo

In 2023, the 14^th Gwangju Biennale will announce the winner of the first Park Seo-Bo Prize, a grant for stand-out artists participating in the biennale, set to continue until 2042. Artists are nominated by a committee of local and international experts and art historians to receive $100,000 USD to develop their practice. The programme, which awards one artist for each of the next ten iterations of the biennale, is co-organized with the GIZI Foundation, Seoul, a non-profit organization, which Park Seo-Bo established in 2019 to support and platform the work of artists in uncharted fields.

‘Soft and weak like water’, the 14^th Gwangju Biennale curated by Sook-Kyung Lee, opens from 7 April to 9 July 2023.
