This summer, a solo exhibition of works by Ibrahim Mahama opens at Kunsthalle Osnabrück in Germany. Titled ‘TRANSFER(S)’, the exhibition explores the old trade routes from Africa to Osnabrück and reveals the enduring cultural and economic impact of these connections. In tracking the routes of the linen trade, a commodity which remains important in the city, Mahama investigates various distributions of power throughout history and the present day.
